During this phase of the inquiry cycle the students are asking themselves, "How can we do something with what we have learned?" and "How has my thinking changed since the beginning of our inquiry?". Keeping the Central Idea in mind the students are taking action in a variety of ways to improve mindfulness, well-being, and subsequently learning at Whitby. Make sure to come on Wednesday, May 20th, at 6:30pm to find out all about the amazing action that our students have taken!
Take a look back on our journey!
A few reflections from our students
● Even though I was worrying a lot about not finishing things, if you believe in yourself you can accomplish way more than you think! - I.A.
● I didn’t know that the Primary kids would be so engaged! Some came back to us again. - A.C.
● I thought, when I heard about a Student Council, I thought I’d be in one. Instead, I actually created one and didn’t know I would accomplish this much. - A.O.
● I learned that I am able to work together with a group nicely and listen to their ideas. - A.M.
● Something that went well was the way our smoothie actually turned out! I was surprised. - L.AI
● Something that went well was my relationship with a classmate. Now we’re better. - E.S.
● Exhibition has changed me in a positive way and made me more mindful of what I do. I practice yoga now. - O.D.
● Exhibition turned out better than I thought it would. I thought I wasn’t going to finish all my work. I got to meet new people and get better relationships with some people. It was really fun, not just focus, focus, focus. It was both. - M.G.
● I learned about myself that I can’t always be right and sometimes other people’s opinions are better. - S.S.
● Yesterday I was surprised with how much the Primary students already knew. - M.V.
● I was a bit surprised about how much we could accomplish, about how valuable the information we had was, and how getting this new information has made us better people. - I.H.
● Exhibition made me more reliable and trustworthy. Now I know that when you’re working in a group, if you don’t do your part, the rest of the group fails. - A.A.
