Today the students started thinking about ALL the presentations on mindfulness and well-being that they have heard and discussed possible inquiries that they could explore. Today we had a special treat for the fourth graders. Several fifth grade students came to share their stories about Exhibition. They shared the challenges that they faced and offered strategies to help the current students, as well as their amazing success stories. The fourth graders had the opportunity to ask questions and get a first hand account of what to expect.

The students have returned from Spring Break energized and ready to dive into their research! They have been spending time with their mentors and discussing their questions and interests in their chosen topics.
To prepare for their research, the students have been learning about research methods. They generated a list of different sources that may help them. Then they sorted those into primary and secondary Sources. In many cases, the students will be seeking primary sources for their research. In addition, the students learned how to identify valid and reliable sources. Check out the link below. Do you think they're valid? Why or why not?

Today we had the amazing opportunity to take a break from the usually hectic pace of the journey to pause and remember how it all began. The students were mindful and present this afternoon under the tutelage of Tao Porchon-Lynch, a world-renowned yoga teacher. At 96 years young, she wins the Guinness Book of World Record's title for oldest yoga teacher. Tao taught a 90 minute class where she had the students practicing yoga poses while she spoke of being mindful and present in your everyday life.
